I had just posted my personal views and opinions about the war and a few days later Angelina Jolie came out with this statement after visiting the troops in Iraq. (It pretty much says the same exact thing that I had just posted a few days earlier- I'm sure she read my blog.) It looks like 1% of Hollywood can actually put their money where their mouth is.
Here is what she said-
"My visit left me even more deeply convinced that we not only have a moral obligation to help displaced Iraqi families, but also a serious, long-term, national security interest in ending this crisis," she writes.
"Today's humanitarian crisis in Iraq -- and the potential consequences for our national security -- are great. Can the United States afford to gamble that 4 million or more poor and displaced people, in the heart of Middle East, won't explode in violent desperation, sending the whole region into further disorder?
"What we cannot afford, in my view, is to squander the progress that has been made. ...As for the question of whether the surge is working, I can only state what I witnessed: U.N. staff and those of non-governmental organizations seem to feel they have the right set of circumstances to attempt to scale up their programs. And when I asked the troops if they wanted to go home as soon as possible, they said that they miss home but feel invested in Iraq. They have lost many friends and want to be a part of the humanitarian progress they now feel is possible…"

THANKYOU Angelina!
Now. . . . More importantly- my sister got onto me for not posting updated pictures of Tucker. Sorry!!!! I've been super busy these days buying a home before JC gets back from Iraq. I've been working really hard to make life as normal and as easy as possible for JC when he returns, and not having to go through the long (sometimes treacherous) process of buying a home will hopefully help. It's getting so close!!!!! I can't wait for JC to meet T-man! He looks so much like his daddy:-)

I think it's great what she did. I really enjoyed your last post as well and say amen to all of that! And your little Tucker is completely adorable!
I am one of the few people that LOVE Angelina, and love her even more for her shout out for the troops! You and JC are great ambassadors for all the amazing things that actually ARE going on over there! Keep up the excellent blogging!
I also want to thank you for your comment and let you know that all I ask is for your support! You know me, so this whole walking 40 miles thing kinda has me freaked out. Words of encouragement are all I need! :) Thank you for being such an awesome friend. I heart you.
Oh and p.s. I took the office quiz and am Pam. Awesome. :)
Wow, I didn't realize how close in age Tucker and Mary Jane are- they are only 1 month apart. It's going to be so fun watching them grow, and meet and become friends in the future!
Where are you buying a house?
tucker does look a lot like jc. he is so cute! and wow, can't believe what angelina said about the troops in iraq. pretty neat! hope you are doing awesome!
Are you kidding me? he is so cute!!
hey, i need a favor. i'm trying to postpone going private as long as I can, so i'm asking everyone to take my last name off their blog list. it's the only way it's searchable on google. So, if you just put Charity, then hopefully people won't be able to look me up. Thanks!!
Cute little thing!
How is the home buying? Have you found a place? Did you ever come look up here? Let me know if I can help.
I am so happy for you! You are so thoughtful, housing is always stressful. we are in transition right now, temporarily staying here and trying to figure out what and where to live. Seriously, I have a rash on my leg from stress! When does JC get home, I get emotional thinking of your homecoming and Tucker meeting his hero of a daddy! I have to say I am impressed with Angelina's take on it, I guess I just figured she would side with all those that say pull out now! Love your blog!
Tucker is so cute! He does look like his daddy...take care, good luck house hunting/buying
You're buying a house all by yourself. What a woman! Is there anything you can't do? How sweet of you to do all that so that JC can have a smooth homecoming. Good luck with everything and post house pics when you're done.
Tucker is getting so big. Did you have a successful transition to his own room?
Tucker is ADORABLE!!! So fun that you are buying a house, can't wait to come and see it!
Beth, I swear I say this in every comment I write, but you are so strong. I can't believe how big Tucker has gotten. He is absolutely darling! Congrats on JC coming home so soon. I am way excited for you. Where are you purchasing your home?
