Happy 2-Year Anniversary My Love!

JC and I have technically been married for two years, but if you count the days up- I'm sure it has barely been a year. It has been a trying two years, but the happiest years of my life at the same time.
Most people know that JC and I were only able to spend 3 days together as a married couple before he had to go back to North Carolina to finish up training for his position in the Marine Corps and I had to fly back to DC to finish teaching my darling little 6th graders for the rest of the school year. After two months of being married, we were finally able to settle down together in Southern California and set our home up as a married couple. We've been here ever since and I am so grateful to be living in such a beautiful area with my husband.
Military life isn't the easiest life, but I am so proud of my husband and his love and respect for our country. Our lives and hearts are deeply invested in the building of Iraq and we are grateful to be a part of it. It was hard not being able to see my husband for 7 months but from what JC tells me, it is a small sacrifice to help those who need him and the rest of the men and women who serve in our military.
I'm usually selfishly thinking of myself when he goes away and how hard it is for me, but as his next deployment approaches in September, I can't help but think of him and how hard it will be for him to return to Iraq. He was originally scheduled to police the Pacific with ports in beautiful places such as Japan, Thailand, Russia, the Philippines, etc. but because of the increase of troops needed in Iraq, he will be returning to the desert a month before the baby is born. When I think of James Tucker coming into this world with his daddy on the other side of the world, my heart breaks into a million pieces. I know there are many men and women who have gone through the same thing, so I don't feel as though it is my place to complain, but I will complain for JC and all the men who aren't able to see the miracle of their baby breathing their first breath of life on this earth. JC won't complain at all but I know it hurts him to be away, especially during this wonderful time in our lives. He is so strong though and tends to focus more on the good and the numerous blessings we've been given. I've appreciated his love, strength and devotion to me these past 2 years. I've been so blessed to have miraculously been able to find my hidden jewel. I love you hon- thank you for the best two years ever. . I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us!

I don't know how you have done it beth! The Lord will surely bless you for the sacrifices you both have made. You guys have the greatest attitude. It makes me want to be more patriotic! I keep thinking of the thousands of things I wanted to talk to you about, for our short two minute conversation in Cafe Rio. Thank goodness for Blogs, I am having a lot of the questions answered. Good luck with your baby...and tell Rae Lyn good luck too. I didn't get a chance to talk to her like I wanted to as well. Happy "2 years"! You guys are the greatest!
